SalahMode is built to work entirely on your device. We designed it so there is nothing to collect: no account, no servers, and no data leaving your phone.
SalahMode has no backend. You never sign in, and the app does not operate or contact any server that receives your information.
If you choose to grant location access, your approximate location is used only on your device to calculate prayer times (via the open-source Adhan library). It is never sent anywhere and is not used for any other purpose.
SalahMode uses Apple’s Screen Time (Family Controls) framework. The apps and categories you select are represented as opaque tokens provided by iOS — SalahMode never learns which specific apps you chose. These tokens are stored only on your device, in an app group shared with SalahMode’s own on-device extensions, and never leave your phone.
Pausing apps around prayer times is handled by Apple’s Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity frameworks, all running locally on your device.
SalahMode includes no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and no third-party code that collects your data.
SalahMode is intended for individuals managing their own device.
